Officially available starting in September for $25, this tiny prop replica connects to your car's cigarette lighter power port and provides a pair of 2.1-amp USB ports for charging smartphones, tablets, and other mobile gadgets. It also lights up and... fluxes... while it's charging your gear, just like it did in the movie—but that's about it. You're welcome to try and hit 88 mph while it's installed in your vehicle, but that will more likely result in a speeding ticket than jumping through time.

Couldnt this also run your battery out?
ReplyDeleteNo.
DeleteIt would draw power from the engine as all electronic devices do when the engine is on. Also most cars and I would assume all new ones don't allow devices to draw power when the engine is off in at least the front jack.
Deleteyour car most likely turns the cigarette lighter port off when the car is off.
DeleteOnly if you are actually going "Back to the Future"
Delete^^ BUTT HEAD here doesn't have a mr fusion on his ride
DeleteWouldn't you be jumping through time if you're beating the gps clock?
ReplyDeleteTime runs faster in space not slower, due to the gravitational drag on the fabric of space time. So in the absence of the corrective algorithm, the gps clocks would be beating you.
ReplyDeleteGravitational Time Dilation speeds up time as gravity decreased and Relative Velocity Dilation slows down time as you increase in velocity. Both of these forces oppose each other however the forces are not equal.
DeleteIf 88mph brought you back in time, I'd be here over and over again. I love german motorways!
ReplyDeleteGuys, the flux capacitor can't actually make time travel possible. Doc brown was actually an illusionist. He's been lying to us this whole time.
ReplyDeleteWhy do people buy this tat?
ReplyDeletejoke ?
ReplyDeleteToo bad the Delorian maxed out at 85mph on the speedo...
ReplyDeletebeen looking for something like this forever. need one. now
ReplyDeleteif you get pulled over by the police maybe you could point at the flux capacitor and tell him Well I had to get up to 88 mph.
