About two weeks ago, it has been announced that
Benedict Cumberbatch dropped out of "
Crimson Peak" – a thriller directed by
Guillermo del Toro – thus leaving fans wondering who will take his spot among
Jessica Chastain,
Mia Wasikowska and
Charlie Hunnam. Today, however,
THR reported that
Tom Hiddleston, known for his roles as
Loki in
The Avengers and
Thor, will take his place.
The shooting of "
Crimson Peak" is set to begin in January next year.
Legendary Entertainment will provide financing and take care of production, but
Universal Pictures will also have a chance to join the project as a financial partner.
The reasons
Cumberbatch had for leaving the crew of "
Crimson Break" remain unknown, but certain sources claim that it wasn't due to conflict with another project.
