The Ironman One GPS+ watch connects to AT&T's cell network, and comes with one year of free 3G connectivity. The technology itself that allows the watch to connect to cellular networks without the need to pair with a smartphone comes from Qualcomm. Other features of the watch include a 1.5-inch Mirasol display, 4 GB storage for music, which can be transmitted to a Bluetooth headset, 8 hour battery life with GPS enabled (three days without) and water resistance for up to 150 feet.
Timex has a 160-year history of making watches, which led it to a decidedly different vision for a smartwatch. The One GPS+ doesn't get notifications from your smartphone, doesn't tell you what's next on your calendar. It's a connected wearable intended to help athletes and adventurers be safer, smarter, and just a little bit more connected. It's not complicated, it doesn't require anything else to work. It's not quite like any watch we've seen before.
The company doesn't exactly have a shipping date in mind yet, but you can already pre-order the One GPS+ through Timex's website.
