Meizu's M1 Note is a $160 blown up iPhone 5c

First of all - yes, that's an Android smartphone. Meizu has taken liberal design inspirations from Apple now and then, but for the company’s latest smartphone, the M1 Note, they just opted to go ahead and copy the entire design of the Apple's iPhone 5c. As you can see, the plastic M1 Note announced today comes in the shamelessly identical set of colors as the iPhone 5c: green, pink, white, yellow and blue.

Like the name suggests, the M1 Note has a large 5.5-inch display that pushes a flagship class Full HD resolution. Underneath, it runs on a 64-bit 1.7GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6752 processor that’s mated to 2GB of LP-DDR3 RAM. Storage wise you have a choice of either 16GB or 32GB capacity. The device also features dual-sim capability, a 13-megapixel camera with dual-tone flash, and an astonishing 3,140 mAh battery.

The Meizu M1 Note supports 802.11n dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, and LTE, WCDMA, and GSM networks.

Overall it is 8.9mm thick, weighs 145 grams and, as Meizu claims, offers a really comfortable grip.

Starting at just CN¥999 (about $160) for the 16GB model, and CN¥1,199 (about $190) for 32GB, this is Meizu's cheapest Android smartphone yet. Unless Apple takes action on this matter, the new M1 Note will head to the Western market in the second half of January 2015. For now, Meizu's taking online pre-orders in China.
